          TCDC (Thailand Creative & Design Center หรือ ศูนย์สร้างสรรค์งานออกแบบ) ก่อตั้งขึ้นเพื่อเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้และแหล่งค้นคว้าข้อมูลด้านการออกแบบและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ให้กับสังคมไทย ตลอดจนเพิ่มขีดความสามารถของนักออกแบบและผู้ประกอบการไทยให้สามารถแข่งขันในตลาดโลกได้อย่างภาคภูมิ

          TCDC มีวัตถุประสงค์หลัก ในการสร้างโอกาสให้ประชาชนได้เข้าถึง “ความรู้” เพื่อที่จะเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้เกิดความคิดสร้างสรรค์ใหม่ๆ และเปิดโอกาสให้ประชาชนได้สัมผัส และสนุกกับการตักตวงประสบการณ์จากผลงาน และความสำเร็จของนักคิด นักออกแบบจากทั่วโลก


ทั้งนี้ TCDC ร่วมมือโดยตรงกับภาคธุรกิจ ผู้ประกอบการ SME และนักออกแบบ โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อสนับสนุนให้คนไทยได้ตระหนักถึงคุณค่าของการนำดีไซน์มาใช้ในการสร้างมูลค่าให้กับสินค้าและบริการ ตลอดจนส่งเสริมและเผยแพร่ผลงานดีไซน์ของนักออกแบบไทยให้เป็นที่รู้จักทั้งภายใน และต่างประเทศ

TCDC's key focus is to create an opportunity for Thai people to access source of knowledge for their new inspirations. TCDC will provide them with an opportunity to experience and absorb of new creativities by learning from success and achievement of all famous artists and designers worldwide.

TCDC in cooperation with private sectors, SME entrepreneurs and designers aim to raise public awareness of using design to add value to their products along with helping Thai designers work gain visibility in the local and global marketplace.

การจัดพระราชพิธีถวายพระเพลิงสร้างพระเมรุมาศ และ / หรือพระเมรุ เป็นราชประเพณี ที่แฝงคติความเชื่อแบบพราหมณ์ พระมหากษัตริย์ทรงเป็นสมมุติเทพ ซึ่งสถิตบนเขาพระสุเมรุ อันล้อมรอบด้วยเขาสัตบริภัณฑ์ และเมื่อจุติลงมายังมนุษยโลกเป็นสมมุติเทพ เมื่อสวรรคตจึงตั้ง พระบรมศพบนพระเมรุมาศ หรือพระเมรุ เพื่อเป็นการส่งพระศพพระวิญญาณกลับสู่เขาพระสุเมรุดังเดิม ทั้งนี้ความเชื่อเรื่องเขาพระสุเมรุปรากฏในไตรภูมิ เป็นเรื่องของภูมิจักรวาล มีลักษณะเป็นที่อยู่ของเทวดา ตีนเขาเป็นป่าหิมพานต์ อนึ่งจากความคิดนี้จึงได้จำลองพระเมรุมาศ พระเมรุ เป็นเสมือนเขาพระสุเมรุและสัตบริภัณฑ์เพื่อส่งเสด็จสู่ทิพยวิมาน โดยสถานที่ประกอบพิธีเดิมนั้นมักเรียกกันว่า ทุ่งพระเมรุ ซึ่งปัจจุบัน คือ ท้องสนามหลวง

The ceremony of Cremation to build the royal funeral pyre and/or crematorium is the tradition from the latent belief Brahman.  The king is a fictional deity who dwells on Mount Meru which is surrounded by Mount Sattaboripan. When the king advented down to secular humanism, he became a fictional deity. After he died, his body was  put on the royal funeral pyre or crematorium to return his body and spirit to Mount Meru. Hence, Mount Meru is the belief in Trai Bhum as a matter of cosmic landscape where the angels dwell. The foothill is Himmapanta Forest. From this concept, the crematorium was simulated as Mount Meru and Mount Sattaboripan to ascended the king to the immortal court.  Besides, in the past, the place for holding this ceremony was often referred to as Thung Phra Meru, which is currently called Sanamluang.
